At the end of November Northside Graphics were named Best Trade Supplier/Print Finisher at the Irish Printer Awards, then a week later our MD Gary White collected the UTV/Business Eye Best Digital/Online Company of the Year award at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall.

Irish Printer is the only dedicated print industry publication that covers both Northern and Southern Ireland. Now in their 40th year, the awards celebrate excellence in print quality, innovation and service throughout the industry.

This year Northside Graphics have been shortlisted for two awards for Irish Printer:

Digital Printer of the Year
The judging panel consists of experts and professionals across all fields in the print industry. In the Digital Printer of the Year category they studied jpegs and physical samples of digital print. They considered a number of areas including print quality, the level of difficulty involved, the execution and the finishing of the final job. They also assessed the consistency of print quality, reproduction and finishing.

Large Format Digital Printer of the Year
In the Large Format Digital Printer category, the judges looked for both creativity and quality in the print samples supplied. The difficulty involved, execution of the final job, print quality and finishing are all factors that were also considered before shortlisting.

Judging every aspect of print
The judging panel contains experts from many different fields of the print industry including the creative sector. They look for excellence not just in the overall quality of the finished print, but in specific areas including fineness of detail and screen, the complexity of the print, the inks used, image sharpness, the equipment or technology used, the range of tones and the consistency of the colours. They also look for even the smallest defect in the final print and finishing.

To meet this criteria, Northside Graphics had to prove not only that we use the best quality presses available but also that we have the best systems in place to handle production, checking, workflow and finishing.

Ready or not, it’s nearly that time of the year again. Deep down, we all love Christmas and everyone loves a party. As soon as Halloween is over we’ll see advertising for Christmas deals and party nights, while many restaurants are already booked out for Christmas dinners or company nights out. From small posters on shop windows to billboard campaigns, poster advertising is effective all year round and at this time of year it’s the perfect way to let as many people as possible see your Christmas promotion.

Big is beautiful

Compared to other forms of advertising, outdoor advertising has the lowest cost per every thousand people who will see it. ‘SME of the Year’ PrintWeek 2017 Awards

We are thrilled to announce that Northside Graphics has won the accolade of SME of the Year at the prestigious UK wide PrintWeek 2017 Awards. The competition was fierce and we didn’t expect to win so we are absolutely delighted with this achievement. It means so much to us because the amount of hard work our team puts in is immense. This latest honour is Northside Graphics’ fourth industry award in three years.

The ceremony, held at London’s Grosvenor House was hosted by Radio 4’s Miles Jupp and saw Northside Graphics bring home the award in our first year of entry. The 20-strong PrintWeek judging panel consisted of print buyers and respected industry experts. In the SME of the Year category they were looking for businesses who could demonstrate growth as well as considerable investment in technology and in people.

Northside Graphics opened its doors in 1988 with the aim of providing a professional, reliable digital printing service to people in Belfast and throughout Northern Ireland. Now, nearly 30 years later, we are recognised as Northern Ireland’s oldest and largest digital printer.

More great news for Northside Graphics. Last month we were delighted to be shortlisted for the PrintWeek 2017 SME of the Year award and today we’re proud to announce that we’re a finalist at the SME Business Initiative at the Digital Printer Awards 2017. So, what’s the SME business initiative award based on?
The judging panel made up of independent industry professionals, all experts in their fields, looked at various criteria including diversification and efficiency initiatives, among others.

The judges recognised that there’s more to being a great printing company than delivering great print. They looked at what steps printing companies were taking improve their business in areas like new product development, efficiency improvement, and staff training programmes for digital printing.
