Five tips on great business card design

Five tips on great business card design
Your business card is one of your most important pieces of marketing. Often, it will be the first impression a potential customer has of your business, so it’s vital they’re left with a good one. We’ve been designing and printing our customers’ business cards from our Belfast premises for nearly 30 years, so we’re well placed to help you produce business cards that will give the right impression.

Whether you’re happy designing your own card or decide you need some help with layout, there are a few tips that will help you produce the perfect business card to give out the right message about your business.

1. Use professional design
If design isn’t your forte, call in a professional. Cheap looking design or an unprofessional card will impress nobody and will harm your business from the start. It’s also important to keep your design and branding consistent with your other marketing. At Northside Graphics, we’re always on hand to help with all your design and printing needs and we’re based right here in Belfast, so you can always talk to us for help and advice.

2. Use the best quality printing
The best design won’t help if your business card looks washed out or poorly printed. At Northside, we use only high quality HP Indigo presses for the very best colour reproduction and print quality. That, along with exceptional attention to detail means that you won’t receive your printed business cards until our expert print team are 100% happy.

3. Dare to stand out
Every business has – or should have – business cards. That means your card is competing with a huge amount of others. At Northside Graphics, we’re always thinking of innovative ways to offer our customers more. We’ve a great range of paper stocks, weights and finishes. Customers can have round cornered business cards and even choose foil blocking or spot varnish to really stand out. Our new website has more information on original business card printing, so have a look and get inspired!

4. Think about your paper
Nobody likes to receive a flimsy or weak business card. We offer a great range of cards and finishes. You can choose from a number of thicknesses with a matt, gloss or silk finish. We also offer lamination. If you really want to be remembered for the right reasons, check out our luxury paper range. Our expert team are always happy to help so if you’re not sure what’s best for you, simply call or contact us for advice.

5. Keep it simple
Your business card’s primary function is to remind a potential customer who you are and what you can do for them. Don’t try to cram in your company history or full range of products and services. Do include your contact details, logo and maybe a QR code linking to your website or social media page. Remember that we’ll print your business cards on both sides, so you can use the rear to show bullet points listing a few key services if necessary.

Whatever you decide, Northside Graphics are Northern Ireland’s oldest digital printers and we’ve been printing business cards for nearly 30 years. We’re extremely proud of the quality and service we supply and our customers know that they can contact us for advice and count on us for the best quality print, quickest turnaround and excellent value for money.
